VOD Review Enhancements ("the extension") is a free companion browser extension for vodreview.app. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.
It applies only to the browser extension. Use of the vodreview.app website is covered by our main Privacy Policy.
None. The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, account details, or analytics. It contains no tracking, telemetry, advertising, or third-party code.
The extension supports the players that vodreview.app embeds, Twitch (player.twitch.tv) and BiliBili (www.bilibili.com), and runs on vodreview.app itself to coordinate them. It performs seven functions:
For Twitch, the extension makes no network requests. The only communication is local messaging between the Twitch player frame and the vodreview.app page open in your browser; this never leaves your device. That includes Live Translation: the audio goes only from the player to the vodreview.app page in the same browser, and neither the audio nor the text made from it ever leaves your computer. The same goes for the scoreboard placement: the picture crops go only from the player to the vodreview.app page in the same browser, are used there and discarded, and never leave your computer. Nothing is sent to VOD Review or anyone else.
For BiliBili, the extension makes two kinds of external request, both to BiliBili's own public live API (api.live.bilibili.com) directly from your browser: one to show whether a BiliBili channel you are viewing on vodreview.app is currently live, and one to look up that channel owner's public profile picture so vodreview.app can show it. Each request contains only the BiliBili room ID being checked. As when you visit bilibili.com directly, BiliBili can see your IP address and the request; the extension adds no personal information, identifiers, or account data, sends nothing to vodreview.app's servers or any analytics service, and does not store the result. Live Translation and the scoreboard placement work exactly as for Twitch on a BiliBili stream: local only.
Live Translation's speech and translation models are downloaded by the vodreview.app website (not the extension) from cdn.vodreview.app, once, like any other file a website loads. Like any download, they show the server your IP address and which files you need, which for the translation models means which languages (a Japanese stream translated into English fetches the Japanese to English model). Nothing else about you or what you watch is sent.
Your compressor and Live Translation preferences are saved by the vodreview.app website in your browser's local storage. So is the address of each BiliBili profile picture it shows, for up to a week, so it can show it again without asking. The Live Translation models (about 600 MB, plus each language you use) are saved by the website in your browser's storage, on your computer; "Delete Downloaded Models" in vodreview.app's settings removes them. The extension itself stores no data, and no settings are transmitted anywhere.
The extension requests host access to *://player.twitch.tv/* (to process and fix the Twitch players) and *://api.live.bilibili.com/* (solely to check BiliBili live-status and look up BiliBili profile pictures). Its in-page scripts also run on the BiliBili player pages it controls (www.bilibili.com/blackboard/...) and on vodreview.app itself. These are the minimum required for the features above; the extension requests no access to any other site. Live Translation and the scoreboard placement added no permissions.
We do not sell, share, or disclose any data, because we do not collect any.
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
